WOMEN THAT INSPIRE US AND OUR BRAND

As we have already written on this blog, one of the pillars that holds LIMA, are those women that throughout the years have inspired us and made us truly believe that for us anything is possible.

That’s why in today’s post we wanted to list those female figures that had inspired us, and hopefully, they will also inspire you, because what can be more important that us women, to come together as a community and fighting for the common goal that is women’s empowerment.

Frida Kalho

“I am my own muse. I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to better.”

There are not many artists that had been truest to themselves as Frida was. Her work wasn’t just about her, but about all the things feminine. Suffering, fighting, loving, and carrying, every one of her brushstrokes was filled with those ideas. She used her surroundings as her muse, finding in nature an unlimited source of inspiration. We on Lima share this passion and see on Frida one of our main role models.

 Amelia Earhart

“Never interrupt someone doing something you said couldn’t be done.”

We are a brand founded in Bali, by two Catalonian women. Traveling is on our DNA. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we find certain inspiration in Amelia Earhart. She was the first women to cross the Atlantic on a plane, so she not only broke a glass ceiling, she reach way higher. She defied the rules and changed the world for better. As travelers, we look to her for inspiration.

Coco Chanel

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different”

We are a sustainable brand. We are a conscious brand. We are an ethical brand. We are a women’s brand. And we also are a fashion brand. And as one, it is impossible for us not to look up to Coco Chanel, a women who redefined fashion, not only designing clothes that were specially meant for women's silhouettes, but also turning what was considered men’s clothes and making them into female wear. Showing us that sometimes using the things that surround you differently is also a way to start a revolution.

These are just some of our muses. But as history keeps moving forward, we can see in each women a spark that is fueling the change for the future to truly be female.
