SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICS

Bamboo from Indonesian fields
Our main material is bamboo. Combined with less than 7% spandex to have stretchiness and flexibility, bamboo is less polluting and more environmentally friendly than cotton. As a fast-growing grass, it does not require fertilizers and it self-regenerates from its own roots. Cotton on the other hand, needs huge amounts of water to be grown, pesticides and labour. We grow, design and manufacture all our bamboo fabrics in Indonesia.
Linen
Our daily clothing pieces are made with linen. It’s a sustainable material as it requires small amounts of water to be grown and it has a long life usage.
Linen seeds can be reused to produce linseed oils and flax seeds and it requires fewer herbicides, fungicides and pesticides than cotton.
As it is very delicate, it only can be dyed with natural ink.

Organic cotton
Organic cotton is one of our most used materials for sports pieces. Combined with less than 5% spandex in our workout designs, it has a minimal impact on the environment and contributes to improving the quality of life of the people who grow and harvest it. Organic cotton ensures healthy working conditions by not exposing workers to inhalation and contact with toxic products. It provides comfort and softness for our movements and avoids exposing our skin to toxins.
Coconut
We use coconut for all of the buttons in our linen basics, maintaining it’s natural colour. Our local supplier cooperates with people from Balinese villages to engage them into their production line. As a result, we have a handmade product that contributes to the community and an innovation of a natural resource utilization.

Recycled plastic: Econyl
Our bikinis, swimsuit and other specific tops and pants are made out of Econyl, also known as recycled nylon.
Wearing this clothes is a way to support sustainability by not creating new plastic leftovers but reusing existing plastic and give it a second life.
Tie dye
Our tie dye procedure is done with a non toxic ink to maintain the whole manufacturing process as sustainable as possible. Only one of our products use this technique in order to be less damaging and more trendy at the same time.

Packaging
Our packaging is made with handmade recycled papers and the bags are made out of recycled leftovers from our workshop.
The bags are unique as it depends on the textiles our manufacturers have left from our own brand or other brands that work with them.
Ethical program
We ensure all our workers have more than the minimum salary wedges. Not only this but we make donations and collaborate with the R.O.L.E. Foundation and it's:
ZeroWaste Center shares ecological knowledge to local people & environmental training to local company staff in order to improve local environments in Bali.
Bali WISE empowers marginalised women through skills education as a means to develop sustainable communities in Indonesia.
